As developed/deployed in a language, there are at least the following things to recognize about truth:
- An allegedly true assertion is only a representation of reality and is, consequently, distinct from the reality that it represents.
- Since human language is a human creation, an allegedly true assertion is a representation of reality as experienced by humans and is not a trans-humanly objective representation of reality.
- An allegedly true assertion is true only in the context of some community of interest in some common purpose.
- An allegedly true assertion is true only as expressed in a language shared by the community referenced in item “3.”.
- As seems applicable to any theory/view of truth (and perhaps uniquely applicable to theories of truth as opposed to other types of theories), this theory of truth must be applicable to itself.
